(Damn I'm sunburned)
I had a great time today at the event. I would say it was better (carwise) than the NHRA G-ville event.
Brent Rau was there with his new RWD tube chassis car. All I have to say is WOW! I saw him make 3 passes in the car 8.11, 8.12 and 8.11 again! Those were literally the 8th-10th passes on the car ...ever! Kinda makes you wonder what old Bushnuts has been doing:confused:I Also saw, Gary Marsh & Big Len. Other non-DSM noteables include Rado's Monster Celica, Sean Carlsons Focus, RJ Simrocks Focus, and Lisa Kubo(who seems to have lost some weight:lol: )
I saw Geo there (whom should be postimg up some pics sometime). Rumor was Manny was also there:). You o-town boys should get out to some real events. You know, there is life outside of OSW:lol: I also met up with some of the Tampa regulars.
Bradenton is a nice facility. This was my first trip there and I will definitely go back for future events.

Well, lets just say that is one fast car that needs a driver. However the car did manage to pull a 9 sec pass today no matter how bad the driving was.
The car is sick, yesterday I saw him launch and spin and hit rev limiter in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears then go thru with a 10 sec pass.
With slicks on all four wheels!!!!!!
Brent Rau's car was very impressive, rear wheel drive and seems like an air shifter, I could be wrong though.
Lisa Kubo did lose weight and therfore broke the record. That seems like an idea that I will try. :moon:
Nice to see Glen again, after many moons
Jesus you should have come with your supra, your class top qualifier ran a 13 to get in. ManyMany fast cars,
Manie

Rob I did not see you. I was all over trying to see it all, lol. I too got Sun burned.
Yes, the event "Car" wise was excellent. Many cars and their drivers that you can only see in Magazines and TV were present. I enjoyed the thing. My only complain is that their Racing progam was the pits. At 6:30 in the evening they were still BSing with the slow cars that had allready lost and it started to Rain. I never got to see the end. I spended 8 hours at the stands, and half that time there was no racing going on. I am going to write them a letter about it. This event had the potential to be "Killer" if it was organized well. May be they were trying to run under the lights after Sun down, lol.
At any rate, I was glad i went and i enjoyed it anyways. I also liked the beautiful Show cars and the pretty girls.

Yes Manie, the racing today sucked because of the long breaks in between races, we left early like 4:00 or 4:30. Yesterdays qualifying was the bomb.

Event was great! Had a blast hanging out with all the DSMer's!
Definitly one of the best FL events I have been too.
A lot of big names at our little track in Bradenton.

Glad to hear it went so well. :) I agree with ya about getting out to more events, Rob. So how was the Shootout again? :p ;) As far as Rau and Buschur, there was an unsubstantiated report that Brent was using basically the same chassis builder so he may be reaping the rewards of the last couple years of Dave's R&D. Or, he could just be better at this game. ;)
Glen - Thanks as always for sharing the pics.

Brent is not benefiting from Buschur here. Brents car is not a full chassis car. It's a unibody. Also, Brent and Devin are tuning their chassis themselves, where as Buschur has the chassis builder tuning his. ;)

Awesome Pics Glen:chug:
I also hated the way the event was run. We spent WAY too much time waiting for the pro cars.

I had a great weekend. The racing was awesome. I just love that sound. I was disappointed that Lisa Kubo broke in the finals. I'm not really a Honda fan, but I like Lisa cuz her birthday is the same day as mine...same year too. But I was super-impressed by all the cars there this weekend. Felt sorry for the poor guy who did a really nice burnout in his RX-7 and then lost control, spun out, and rammed right into the Christmas Tree's concrete wall. :(
Anyway, I know none of you are interested, but ummm...I took first place in the Car Show in the "Eclipse/Talon: Mild" category. The title came with a nice 3-foot green and gold trophy.
I am so sunburned it's not funny. Standing out in that heat and sun for two days, 10 hours at a time really overpowered the fact that I had SPF45 sunblock on. Makes me wonder if it would have made a difference had I not worn any at all. I can't feel anything but heat coming from my head. OUCH!
I agree with Rob tho, the event was very haphazardly run, no one ever knew anything when you asked a question, everything was held up, and then there was the rain. Oh well...

I think the event was a little ruff since this was the biggest NDRA event so far.
The most racers, show cars, db drag etc..
Hopefully they will change the format a little to concentrate more on that this event is really about...racing.

Sorry. Julius has that sweet blue auto GS-T. He pops up every once in a while @ a meet. He goes to all the show though. He rolls w/ Jade Motorsports too.
