This is at Bradenton and 4 of the 5 11-second Tampa Bay DSMs are planning on attending. It's only $5 for spectators and should be quite a show.

I know this is last minute, but that seems to be the best way to get things done around here. ;)

Got confirmation from the organizer(s) that we can just show up and pay to spectate.

Had a kick ass time, it was really cool to meet some of the Orlando crew, DSM's rocked the track!!

New best time:

60' 1.627
330 4.829
1/8 7.411
MPH 93.75
1000 9.664
1/4 11.574
MPH 115.29 --> lower ic pipe blew off after the 3-4 shift

Got a new best on pump gas too:

60' 1.733
330 5.064
1/8 7.737
MPH 92.35
1000 10.089
1/4 12.045
MPH 115.07

Personal best 60' time of 1.611

Set a personal record, 15 passes in a day, actually that was acomplished in about 4 hours!! :dist:

Only major problems of the day where my lack of tuning, keeping the tranny in 1st gear, making a complete shift from 3rd to 4th, lower ic pipe blowing off, getting sun burned!

89 Mirage 1.6L Turbo (Gail) Still getting the hang of launching the car, but the power is there. There's lots of untapped potential to boot!

60' 1.790
330 5.322
1/8 8.235
mph 84.14
1000 10.804
1/4 12.977
mph 102.85

89 Mirage 2.0L Turbo (Underdog) Car is running great, lots of fun to drive. The most entertaining was my last run. I thought it'd be cool to run on the drag radials. Hit second gear and it felt like the car shot a foot or two to the right. :dist:

60' 1.849
330 5.158
1/8 7.794
mph 92.29
1000 10.066
1/4 11.962
mph 118.01

It was good seeing folks from the Orlando crew supporting us!

Damn Dustin, that was you. I'm such an IDIOT! I must have missed that introduction. I'm so Stupid, stupid, stupid.

That is the only thing that I didn't enjoy about today. I didn't get a chance to bullshit too much with everyone. The only ODSM guys I could name again Are Geo and Jack. The others were cool guys that I didn't get a good chance to talk to. My mind was like a jumbled mess.:silly:

Actually, the uncouth Tampa goons didn't bother with introductions. Then again, Geo and I didn't really bother to introduce our Orlando sidekicks, either. :D

Seriously, it's always interesting putting faces to internet handles - because they are never what you expect. I can't say enough good things about the core Tampa guys and their efforts today. That's a DSM family to be proud of.

Early on, everyone was sort of struggling. We were afraid that we had brought the Orlando curse with us, but it turns out those silly guys were trying to run 11s on pump gas. :D So, when I saw the white Mirage hatch run a high 12 at around 105mph, I just figured Tom was a little off the pace.

When I saw the car run again, it busted out a 12.0 at around 117mph! "What the hell did they do to that car?!" Jack exclaimed. Only later did I realize they had brought the twins out.

Brad- Get all the towel fuzz off your head yet?
Snoochie-Buccis- Get that big-ass grin off your face yet?
Jerry- Get that headgasket fixed yet?
Eric- Get that axle fixed yet? (Eric gets the "Warrior of the Weekend" award for a mighty effort to locate and replace a broken axle in the pits.)
Geo/Akie- Get Ulysses out of the backseat yet?

Awesome event and I'm glad I got to come out and enjoy.

Sound like it was lots of fun. Great runs guys/gals.
I got up to go, but I realized I had way too much to do today, so I figured I should do them. It was hard not to go. I knew it was going to be fun.
Next event,,

 What fuzz, you mean my strategically located sweat removing strands of absorbtion, yeah finally!!

I learned allot at that event with all the run time, I just tried to move too far too soon.

I've got my thinking readjusted and I'm looking forward to some more track time. I'm somewhat confident that the car has a mid/low 11 in it as it sits, the question is does the driver!!

It was good to meet you guys, I saw allot of new faces but didn't get too many names. Maybe next time, I was so preoccupied trying to get my car dialed in I didn't get to bs very much with you guys. :bashcar: :)

Yes I got it fixed, what a pain in the ass, nobody in bradenton stocks axles for my car, guess I will have to start bringing extra axles everytime I go to the track :(
