You guys know any cheap places to get some high temp coatings done. Jet-hot has that nice "sterling" color that looks polished. Very nice but they are that expensive.

These guys are cheap and do good work according to a customer of theirs I talked to. Here is a picture of his engine bay. He had the intake, valve cover, and header coated by them.

not bad, 80 bucks for an exhaust manifold.

Finally a local place. Thanks Greg for the link
http://www.hyperkote.com/
Talked to them today, they want 100bucks for my header so it should be a little less than that for a 1g/2g manifold.
I will ask him about warranty when I go to get it done one of these days. He did say he does all of the manifolds for the grand national guys in town and has not had one come back.
Also quoted 40bucks for a valve cover.

I would recommend against ceramic coating your valve cover. I talked to the guy at Hyperkote about it for a few and he also agreed that coating it may keep too much heat in the motor up top, and suggested powder coating instead.
If anyone has heard any different please let me know, but it sorta makes sense to me.

Took it over there today. 125$ bucks for my turbine housing and header. Not bad, he guarantees it against chipping/cracking etc.

I wouldn't be concerned in the least with heat dissipating through the valve cover, oil and engine coolant are the primary coolers of an engine, the heat lost or contained by a valve cover would be very very minimal at the most and shouldn't affect engine cooling in any noticably beneficial fashion.
I see the thinking behind it but I honestly don' t think there's anything to worry about, thats just me though.

Nah it still is that way. I chose different, I'm guaranteed to be the guy that has the mods to be fast but stuck in the 12s if that:rolleyes:
The difference between me and most is that I actually will go to the track, run big boost, nothing but c16, and shift like a mad man. If it is slow then it is slow. But I guarandamntee you I will not be the guy that says yeah I ran xx.xx@ xxx but it was on _____ (insert seventeen excuses here) :jack:
