I have found a jackson auto machine site that has lifters for $80 for 8, so $160 for all 16. Do you guys have an idea how much it cost to get them put in? Also, is it easy to do it your self?

Just go down to the Lifters... or anything else for that matter. $8.65/each. I think all 16 were around $146.

Are lifters the thing that you hear "tick" in so many 4g63 engines?

Make sure you have a magnet too.
I just did mine recently, not that bad (with my friend Ronnie helping out when I got frustrated).
I got them through the ebay store partsdinosaur. Look them up, I paid $135 for mine shipped, great transaction!
