View Full Version : Does everyone want to race?

This week while I was back home (P'cola) I'm headed to the local Wally World when I get stopped at a light. This Echo pulls up next to me crammed with 16 yr olds. I look over and they're all checking the car out, but they're kinda peering over their shoulder. Then the kid starts revving his engine. Now, I went up there for a funeral, so I'm already not in a good mood but now I have something to laugh about as I've got this punk wanting to race. So I watch him try to squeel his tires and fly through the next light as I'm turning, laughing the whole time......
Leaving Wal-Mart less than 20 minutes later I pull up to the same light going the other way when an RS pulls up next to me. He's lowered with his system up and his girlfriend eyeing me. He gets pissed and starts revving. Yet another punk wanting to be embarrassed.
The real point to this is that at least 3 times daily I get some young kid or old man looking to prove something. Do you guys experience the same thing?

Nobody wanted to race me in the 1G unless I instigated it. I figure they either didn't know it might be fast or knew it might be too fast. ;)
I do remember a few times, when I was younger and driving my Civic, that I would rev on AWD DSMs just to see if they would give me a launch. :D :dunce:

We went out in the freaking mirage yesterday looking for a damn race and found nothing. :flamemad: Then when we finally found some jerk off with a turbo civic hatch that was talking smack at the track last time but he did not want to race. Of course not, he knew he would get:spank: Then the cops came and bah we just went home.
Also when I had my car, I had to instigate races.

well, last night as weak as my car was running, I had to rev on brad when I saw him, and he gave me a nice display of what a garrett can do on a dsm. :D

Accord Man, what kind of mods do you have? You run your car at the track? Just curious. :)

A guy with an Accord from Louisville actually registered and made a silly ass challenge like that. I think it's Micah trying to stir things up, again.

*ding ding ding* I think we have a winner for the "Lamest Post of the Year" award.
An Accord guy, from several states away, offers an invitation to race (like anyone is going to travel to race an Accord). Then, he tosses in the police station caveat.
Where's natural selection when you need it?

Also his best 1/4 mile time is 456.67. That's pretty respectable for an Accord if you ask me. :)

Well, that depends on who you are saying it to, but what does that have to do with this thread? I don't see where anyone said that.

The thread title says, "Does everyone want to race?" You wrote: "i think its stupid to just say who wants to race?" [sic]
Maybe you should read the whole thread - or at the very least, the first post - before responding. I'm not sure if your goal is to seem like a dumbass, but you're doing a fine job of it.
Keep up the good work.

Swaps are over-rated. They're not as fast as they make them out to be. People think: swap= instant quickness. NOT!
Even Matt was smokin Civics with swaps in his GSR that was running 91-92mph through the traps. I smoked a few back in the days with when I just had a filter, including the all mighty Type-R.
