Hello,

A small introduction. My name's Rene and I live in Rotterdam, Holland. I own an EVO 6 RS2 currently with a Ralliart ECU, EVO 6 GSR interior, Ralliart airfilter and 3"Magnex downpipe and Supersprint catback.

I'm looking for some way of increasing boost (to enjoy the full potential of the Ralliart ECU) and I'm thinking of a Dawes Device, a AVC-R or Greddy Spec II.
I used to have a AVC-R fitted in my Impreza GTTurbo but I don't want all the tech stuff nomore. Can anyone share his experiences of a Greddy Spec II boostcontroller ? Is it any different from a AVC-R or much 'simpler'.

Hope someone can shed some light on this for me. Tnx !

Welcome! Sick car bro!! Well if you have the money to spend on an electronic boost controller, the greddy one is pretty good and i believe it has more features than the HKS one. Or you can just go simple with a mbc.

Good to have you here. You have a beautifull car.
If you like to have a simple boost device, I will recommend the HKS EVC Easy Generation II. Is Electronic and should require very little know how. I had the 1st. Generation on my GST and I was very happy with it.
Chad had a AVC-R so he can tell you about that one. And Carlos had the 1st gen or spect 1 Greedy, so he can tell you about that one. The advanage of the AVC-R is you can set boost by RPMs. You don't need that (AWD) car. And the Greedy can be had with a remote swith. Handy, but not needed that bad.
Good luck.

Thx for the welcome :)

Yep, Holland is a LHD country, thank God

The AVC-R indeed has the advantage of the rpm's. Like I said, I've been having the AVC-R for 2,5 years and foolled around with it quite some times :) But what I'm really looking for is just a simple way to adjust and keep boost without that awfull 'big' AVC-R on the dash. Especially the EVO6 doesn't have much room to play with.

Does the Greddy have a seperate electronic solenoid to replace the OEM one or is it just like a mbc, but then electronic ?

DSM95Hybrid,
The seats came off a UK spec GSR.
In the UK you have the EVO VI RS and GSR. The RS was suppost to be used in rallye's anyway so no powerwindows, antenna, Recaro seats, airbags etc. The GSR model did have all these features including climate control and this black suede/blue Recaro seats.

In Holland all the EVO VI's were imported directly from either Japan or Germany. Mine came directly from Japan and it's an RS2, meaning it had all the features mentioned above, only the climate control was just airconditioning and the seats were quite standard, just as the RS. When they were imported they immediately changed the front seats into new black Recaro's. There are only 50 EVO VI RS2's imported in Holland of which abt 10 were used for rallye and abt. 10 are no longer with us ...
So approx. 30 of these items are currently on the road in Holland. They came in 3 colours (as per above picture), black, white and grey and it seems 2 red Tommy Makkinen's were imported lateron.

Back to the seats ... besides the black/blue GSR interior there's also the TME interior being red and black suede. There are some left in the UK and so are the GSR's interiors... So if you're interested, just visit the MLR website and you're bound to find one. Goodluck !

I finally got to see one just like yours in person here at AeroComp yesturday. They are building it and should be done in 3 to 4 months. It belongs to Jose and Jesus Rivera. They got nice a nice looking AirFoil (Spoiler). :)
