    9 sec Supra

Did anyone hear about Nero's Supra going 9.98 last weekend. With only 21psi.

They are going to the dyno this morning with the intent of running 35psi. If everything goes well they will be heading out to the track tonight so Mark can get his license and will be able to run this weekend at Gainsville.

    Sick.

You guys gonna make it to Gainesville? Fabio, I'll even give you a break and you can sleep on the way there. I'll drive the Galant for you.

    Look under "Events" for details.
I used to be kind of a big deal on the internet.

Man you must be crazy!.... The Galant would never make it to Gainsville.

I haven't decided yet because I will be working until pretty late on Saturday night. If I go I will be taking the mighty Toyota.....Rav 4 that is. Gotta love auto trannies and a/c.

Come on, sissy. The Rav4 would be the perfect party bus. Well, short bus - and that would suit us just fine.

Feel the peer pressure, feel the peer pressure. Here, this guy is going to keep telling you to come while I go work on some other stuff. Listen to him:

14psi more is like what....500hp more in those beasts?
J/K, should be sick though. I'm guessing 147-152traps.

For the record, I am a firm believer in maintaining the proper girl:guy ratio. 3+ guys in a van with 1 female is definitely not maintaining the ratio (wherein F should always be >/= M).

Ha ha, for real Fabio, we need to get together @ OSW one of these days. I wasn't messing around a few months back.. I do want to run side by side with another Galant. Even if you whip my ass, the world will know these 4drs are not a force to reckon with!!! I'm @ 1400 mi on the rebuild and about ready to test out some serious boost .

    I agree with you Jack.

There should definately always be more buns than hotdogs.

Sounds like a good Idea Scott. We definately need to run them at the track together. I will hopefully be ordering my intercooler next week so probably in about a month she will be ready to go.

Oooh, I can hear the sound of broken axles all around me.....Joy.....

Really sad though that he lost to Ari. I guess it was a little first time intimidation. The car definately is VERY fast and was running 9s all weekend except that one pass. Is that the fastest car in the street class?

Hahaha! Poor Ari. First he was run off the IDRC schedule by Master Shepherd, now he's having his NHRA/NIRA parade rained on.

For those who didn't make it and haven't heard, Nero's Supra went 9's all weekend, with a best of the 9.5 mentioned above. 150+ mph. In the finals, Ari and Matt/Mark? (driving Nero's car) lined up. They played some staging games and I think it spooked the Supra driver's nerves a bit - he ended up smoking first and second gear, allowing Ari to get a big jump.

What was most impressive was that the Supra domination occurred using 1 less power adder.

    Mmm, Supra...

No I believe Mr. Shep only runs IRDC for the time being. At least last season that was the case.

btw Jack, did you check out all the slow ass fwd cars out there today FWDs busting records left and right. To me that was the most exciting class to watch.

Also on the Titan supra what is most impressive is the fact that this was on drag radials. Is that the first 9 sec supra on actual street drag radials vs ET streets?

For those people who occassionally get confused, I'll clarify again :

    1) I hate driving FWD, I don't hate people who drive FWDs. Hell, I'm gonna marry one and I will probably be one before too long.
    2) I hate people who drive slow Hondas* but think they are "tha shit." That doesn't mean I hate all Hondas*.
    3) I hate listening to NA 4cyl and NA rotaries at the drag strip.
    4) I respect quick cars and quality engineering.

For example, there was a yellow Type R running that was very classy. Nice sound, solid runs, and clean appearance. Nicer overall than Len's DSM, in my opinion. Overall, I was impressed with quite a few cars out there, but I wasn't "wowed."

I'm really glad I went, though, for the experience and to shake hands with all the Florida DSMers that made it out.

    * Insert any car here.

Aniel, I was joking with Jack. There where some very fast fwd out there. Jojo went 9.03 and 9.08 at about 155ish. I think Kenny Tran backed up his old record with a 9.18. The venom civic ran a 9.2@162+ I believe. Basically there where like 10 hot rod class fwd in the mid to low 9s.

Yes this event was definitly great!
Got to see a lot of fast cars that don't make it to the sunshine state too often.

Also wanted to see Ari get his butt whooped, but you guys can get him next time. Nero's Supra is sick fast.

There where so many fast cars out there in all the classes.

I also love the fact that Steph Papi got knocked out in the first round by a local old school Toyota Corrola 1.8.

That yellow integra was awesome as well, once he put second gear it that car moved.

The event is definitly drawing great racing. Glad to see all you guys there.

    Till next time.
